Start Here: Our Classic Rasa Dashi Recipe
The first step to a healthy lifestyle is being intentional about what you put into your body and the foods you eat everyday.
An easy way to start is by having Rasa Dashi and seaweed salad in your kitchen, ready to go! Enjoy each on their own or use in a myriad of nourishing creations.
Light, bright, extremely versatile and ready in 15 minutes, this Rasa Dashi recipe is a rich, umami tea/broth that replaces your normal electrolyte drinks. The best part is nothing is wasted and you can easily use the hydrated seaweed to make a delicious and nutritious seaweed salad.
In Ayurveda, Rasa refers to the body’s vital, mineral-rich fluid—the plasma that nourishes your blood, tissues, and overall vitality. Dashi, a traditional Japanese seaweed broth typically made with kombu (and sometimes katsuobushi), is a simple yet powerful foundation food. This light, low-calorie stock is naturally rich in iodine, iron, calcium, and trace minerals that support thyroid health, digestion, and metabolic balance. Its natural umami flavor enhances meals while reducing the need for excess salt. Seaweed also acts as a prebiotic, helping nourish the gut microbiome, while its bioactive compounds have been studied for supporting bone health, antioxidant activity, and recovery from fatigue.
You can use this simple unadulterated food in place of Gatorade, Ozempic, and Viagra (yes, we said it!) It's really easy to prepare and stays good in the fridge for a few days, even up to a week.
